Malibu Car Key Locksmith

Yes, Zuma and Westward Beach are exactly the kind of call we build our routes around. The lots are huge, the surf crowd parks before sunrise, and fobs end up locked in trunks or dead from saltwater. A lockout takes about 10 minutes with zero damage. Lockouts run $95-$125. If your key is gone for good, we do the full replacement right in the lot, no tow off the beach.

Text us your cross streets the moment you get a bar. Texts squeeze through where calls fail. Solstice Canyon, Corral Canyon, and Escondido Falls all have terrible cell coverage. Tell us the trailhead name and what you are driving and we will confirm before we roll. Canyon pullouts and dirt lots are no problem for the van. Lockouts run $95-$125. If the key went missing on the trail, we originate a new one at your car.

Yes. Pull the emergency blade from your fob, use it to open the driver door, then hold the dead fob flat against the push-to-start button. The backup RFID coil reads the transponder chip at contact distance and starts the car. This works on Toyota, Honda, Subaru, BMW, and most other push-to-start models. If it still won't start, call us. We program a replacement through OBD in 20-30 minutes at your location.

Yes. The Seaver campus lots off Malibu Canyon Road and the student housing above them are all covered. A lockout takes about 10 minutes and costs $95-$125. If you lost your only key, we originate a new one at your parking spot, no tow off campus and no dealer trip to the Valley. Text us your year, make, and which lot you're in.

Yes. We coordinate with the gate before we arrive at Malibu Colony, Serra Retreat, Broad Beach, and Paradise Cove. All-keys-lost on a luxury car happens entirely in the driveway, with no tow through a private community. On a typical luxury smart key you save $200-$400 versus the dealer. Mercedes is the exception: a new Mercedes key goes through the dealer, so we refer that out and handle the lockout and broken key extraction on site.

Yes, Tesla calls come in steadily here. Key cards and phone keys work differently than traditional fobs, so if your phone key stops pairing or your card is lost, we set up a new key card and pair it to the vehicle on-site. We also help owners locked out when their phone battery dies. If you surf, keep the card in a waterproof pouch, not in a wheel well.

It might be saved if you act fast. Pop the battery out immediately and don't press any buttons. Rinse the board with fresh water to get the salt off, then air dry it completely for a full day. If it still doesn't work, the board is corroded and the fob needs replacing. We transfer the blade to a new housing and program the chip through OBD, 20-30 minutes. A replacement fob starts around $200-$250.

If your car uses a metal key, we cut a valet key: a basic blade without the fob electronics that locks, unlocks, and starts the car. If your car is push-to-start only, many fobs have a removable emergency blade we can duplicate as a standalone door key. Tesla owners: waterproof pouch for the key card. A valet key or spare blade typically runs $50-$75 and saves you from a $250+ replacement later.

Overhead and logistics. We don't run a service department, a parts counter, or a waiting room. There's no car dealer in Malibu, so the alternative starts with a tow to Santa Monica or over the hill to the Conejo Valley. A BMW dealer charges $400-$600 for a comfort access fob. We do the same job in the driveway for $200-$400 less. A new Mercedes key goes through the dealer, so we refer that out.

Toyota is one of the most common makes we service. We carry Toyota key blanks on every van and can cut and program a new key on-site - usually in under 30 minutes.
