Emergency Locksmith Options We Offer

Prices below are typical ranges. Your exact cost depends on year, make, model, and whether all keys have been lost. We'll confirm the price before any work starts.

01

Lockout Emergency

Staring at your keys through the window at midnight in a parking garage downtown? We’ll have the door open in minutes without leaving a mark.

Late-night emergency lockout in a downtown parking structure in Lakeside, California, on a 2017 Subaru Impreza. Non-destructive air-wedge and jamb-access tools handled the open without wedge damage to the seal or trim.

Emergency lockout means gaining non-destructive entry when the keys are inside, the fob is dead, or the lock mechanism failed, and you can’t afford to wait. We use professional-grade air wedges and long-reach tools calibrated for each vehicle type.

02

Lost Key Emergency (All Keys Lost)

Every key and fob is gone and the car is sitting dead. The dealer says tow it in and wait. We build a new key at your location, tonight.

Emergency all-keys-lost build on a 2017 Jeep Cherokee in a home driveway in Alpine, California. Lock cylinder decoded, blade cut to the derived bitting, and the immobilizer re-tokenized through the OBD port. Done tonight, no dealer wait, no flatbed.

All-keys-lost means no original exists to copy. We decode the lock cylinder to determine the blade cuts, then program the immobilizer from scratch through the OBD-II port. For transponder and smart key vehicles, this requires extracting the security PIN or reading the EEPROM, generating a valid token, and writing it to a blank key or fob.

03

Broken Key / Stuck Ignition Emergency

Blade snapped off inside the ignition or the cylinder seized with the key trapped? Do not force it. Every attempt pushes the fragment deeper and turns a repair into a replacement.

Mobile broken-key emergency on a 2016 Hyundai Elantra at a home in Ramona, California. The tip snapped deep and the owner had already tried forcing it, which pushed it further.

A broken key in the ignition requires two steps: extracting the fragment without damaging the cylinder wafers, and cutting a functional replacement immediately after. We use specialized extraction hooks, broken key extractors, and a scope for fragment visualization when needed.

04

Key Theft Emergency (Deactivate & Replace)

Your keys were stolen and right now, whoever has them can walk up to your car, unlock it, and drive away. The old keys need to be dead before that happens.

Theft response on a 2020 Honda Pilot at a home in Fallbrook, California. We dispatched as soon as the owner realized her purse was gone. All stored tokens wiped from the immobilizer first, then a fresh key cut and programmed.

Stolen keys are a time-critical security emergency. Every minute the old keys remain registered in the immobilizer, the thief has full access to your vehicle. Our theft response is two phases. Phase one: we connect to the OBD-II port and wipe every registered key token from the immobilizer module, instantly deactivating all existing keys and fobs.

05

Stranded / Roadside Key Emergency

Dead fob on the side of the 8, snapped blade on the shoulder of the 5, locked out in a parking lot at midnight with no rideshare nearby? We come to you.

Mobile roadside emergency on a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox stranded in a dark parking lot in San Ysidro, California, with a dead fob and no rideshare in range. We arrive fast, diagnose the failure, and either resync the fob or cut a fresh emergency blade.

Roadside key emergencies combine key failure with the hazard of being stranded in traffic or an isolated location. Our roadside response covers every scenario: dead fob batteries, fobs that lost sync, keys that snapped in the door or ignition, accidental lockouts, and keys that stopped turning from cylinder wear.

After-Hours Emergency Service

It’s midnight, your car is locked, your key is broken, and every locksmith in San Diego stopped answering hours ago. We’re still here.

Late-evening emergency on a 2017 Mazda 6 at a home driveway in Otay Mesa, California, well after most locksmiths have shut down for the night. Full service scope available after hours, from lockouts to all-keys-lost, no price gouging.

After-hours emergency service covers every key situation that happens outside normal business hours: evenings, weekends, holidays. The service scope is identical to daytime. Lockouts, all-keys-lost, broken key extraction, fob replacement, ignition repair, theft response.

Sound Familiar?

  • You’re locked out at 11 PM in a parking garage with no roadside assistance and the garage closes in an hour.
  • Someone stole your bag at a restaurant and they have your car keys, your house keys, and your license with your address.
  • The key snapped in the ignition on a freeway on-ramp and you’re blocking the merge lane with hazards on.
  • Your only fob died at the airport long-term lot after a week-long trip and the car won’t respond to anything.
  • You lost every key to the car and it’s sitting in a tow yard that charges by the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge more for emergencies, nights, or weekends?
No. We quote a flat rate on the phone before dispatch and that number doesn’t change based on urgency, time of day, or day of the week. No emergency surcharges, no after-hours fees, no mileage add-ons. The price we quote is the price you pay.
How fast can you get to me in San Diego?
Under 25 minutes for most of the metro area. Outlying areas like Oceanside, Fallbrook, or eastern El Cajon may take slightly longer depending on distance and traffic. We give you a specific ETA on the phone before we leave so you know exactly when to expect us.
What should I do if my keys were stolen?
Call us immediately. Until the stolen keys are erased from the immobilizer, whoever has them can unlock and start your car. We come to the vehicle, wipe every registered key from the system, and program new ones as the only authorized set. If the stolen keys were in a bag with your ID, also file a police report and consider securing your home since the thief may have your address.
Can you handle any vehicle in an emergency?
We carry platforms and blanks that cover virtually every make and model from 1990s domestics through current-year imports. The Autel IM608, AutoProPad, VVDI2, and Lishi decoders handle the diagnostic and programming side. Our cutting equipment covers standard, transponder, flip, laser-cut, and smart key blanks. If your vehicle needs a part we don’t carry, we tell you on the phone before we dispatch.
Will an emergency lockout damage my car?
No. We use the same non-destructive tools on emergency calls that we use on scheduled appointments. Lishi picks, air wedges, long-reach tools built specifically for automotive locks. Urgency doesn’t change technique. The work is clean regardless of how fast it needs to happen.
What if I’m stranded on the freeway?
Stay in the vehicle with your seatbelt on and hazards activated if possible. Call us with the best location info you have: freeway name, direction, nearest exit, or mile marker. We dispatch immediately for roadside calls because shoulder exposure is a safety hazard. If you also called CHP or roadside assistance, let us know so we can coordinate.
Can you make a replacement key on an emergency call, or just open the door?
Both. Every truck carries a full mobile shop: cutting machines, programmers, fob blanks, extraction tools, and diagnostic equipment. If you need a lockout followed by a new key, we do both in one visit. The services are priced separately but combining them saves a second dispatch and a second wait.
Why call you instead of roadside assistance?
Roadside assistance covers basic lockouts but can’t make keys, program transponders, deactivate stolen fobs, or repair ignitions. Response times run 45 minutes to over an hour, and they often send a tow driver with generic tools rather than an automotive locksmith. If your situation goes beyond opening a door, roadside assistance ends up calling a locksmith anyway. Calling us directly gets a specialist on-site faster, equipped for whatever the situation actually is.
