Key Cutting & Transponder Service - Mobile to Your Royal Enfield
Royal Enfield builds modern classics that combine retro styling with reliable engineering. The Classic 350, Meteor 350, Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Himalayan, and Hunter 350 have all gained a strong following in the US market. The great news for Royal Enfield riders is that these bikes use straightforward mechanical keys with no electronic immobilizer, making key replacement quick, simple, and affordable. EZ Car Keyz provides mobile key cutting for all Royal Enfield models on-site.
Royal Enfield Mechanical Keys, Transponder Blanks & Ignition Types
Mechanical blanks and modern transponders - the RE key range.
Mechanical Keys: The Early Standard
Royal Enfield motorcycles use standard mechanical keys across their entire current lineup. There are no transponder chips, no immobilizers, no smart keys, and no proximity fobs. This applies to every current model including the Classic 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, Super Meteor 650, Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Shotgun 650, Hunter 350, and Himalayan.
Key Blanks and Common Key Sets
The 350cc J-platform models and 650cc twins use compatible key blanks measuring approximately 42mm long, 5.8mm wide, and 2.9mm thick. These keys operate the ignition, fuel cap, seat lock, and fork lock as a common key set. The KEY9 blank (38mm blade with right-side groove) is the standard factory blank for most Royal Enfield models. We carry these blanks and cut them on-site. No dealer visit required.

Simple locks, growing security - what RE riders need to know.
How the Immobilizer Works
Royal Enfield does not use a factory electronic immobilizer system on any current model. Unlike Honda (HISS), Yamaha (YISS), or Kawasaki (KIPASS), Royal Enfield relies on mechanical security features only. These include a steering lock integrated into the ignition switch and an engine stop switch on the handlebar. There are no transponder chips in the keys, no ECU-locked security, and no electronic anti-theft system.
What This Means for Key Replacement
This means key replacement is a purely mechanical process with no programming required. For riders who want additional security beyond the factory setup, aftermarket alarm systems and disc locks are available as add-ons. Since no programming is involved, our mobile locksmith handles Royal Enfield key replacement quickly and affordably at your location.

Affordable bike, affordable key service - no dealer detour.
What the Dealership Charges
Royal Enfield dealerships charge $140 to $200 for a complete common key set (part numbers like RAP00007/C or RAP00013/B), which includes the ignition lock, seat lock, fuel cap lock, and 2 matching keys. This replaces the entire lock system rather than just making a single key. The process typically takes 1 to 3 business days and requires towing the bike to the dealer.
What EZ Car Keyz Offers Instead
EZ Car Keyz can cut you a new Royal Enfield key on-site in minutes for a fraction of that cost. Since these bikes use simple mechanical keys, no special programming is needed. We just need to decode your existing lock or cut from your spare key, and you are riding again immediately. Skip the dealer and call for an exact quote.

What Royal Enfield Riders Say About Key Replacement
What Riders Report
Royal Enfield owners on forums strongly favor locksmiths over dealerships for key replacement, citing successful duplications with generic or aftermarket blanks at a fraction of dealer costs. The most common complaints center on ignition switch failures from water exposure rather than key issues themselves.
Maintenance Tips from the Community
Forum users recommend cleaning the ignition contacts annually, waterproofing connectors, and always keeping a spare key. For riders buying used, many bikes only come with one key, so getting a spare made immediately is widely recommended. Call EZ Car Keyz for a same-day spare at a fraction of dealer cost.
