Which Key Does Your FX37 Use?
This is the rectangular fob with four buttons and a hidden emergency key blade tucked inside. You never insert it anywhere; just carry it in your pocket and the car recognizes it when you grab the door handle or press the start button.

Smart Key Battery Failure
The CR2032 in your FX37 fob drains fast because the proximity features constantly talk to the car. Door handles stop responding, push-button start takes two or three tries. A fresh battery fixes it in two minutes; if not, the fob may need reprogramming.
Transponder Programming Lockout
First check when your FX37 will not start after a battery swap or key loss: whether NATS has gone into lockout. Car thinks someone is trying to steal it. We use a Nissan-compatible scan tool to pull the PIN and reset in your Simi Valley driveway.
Request Switch Malfunction
You grab the FX37 door handle and nothing happens. On the 2013, proximity sensors inside the handles corrode, especially near the coast in Oxnard or Ventura. If pressing unlock on the fob works, it is the sensor, not your key.
Can You Program This Key Yourself?
No self-programming procedure exists for the 2013 FX37. The NATS immobilizer requires a professional scan tool with PIN code retrieval to register any new smart key. This is a locksmith or dealer job, no way around it.
