Porsche launched the Macan with their advanced PVMS immobilizer system and a 4-button smart proximity key using a PCF7945P (HITAG PRO ID49) transponder chip. This generation requires server authentication for programming, which means professional tools and online access. Some base 2015 models came with a 3-button variant, so we always verify by VIN before we roll out.
Type 95B Facelift
Porsche kept the same key platform here but added a rear hatch button and refreshed the exterior. Your smart key still uses the PCF7945P (HITAG PRO ID49) chip with the same FCC ID (KR55WK50138), and programming still requires server authentication through the PVMS immobilizer. The facelift didn't change the security architecture, which is good news for your wallet.
Which Key Does Your Macan Use?
This is the standard Macan key. It's a black fob with the Porsche crest, four buttons (lock, unlock, trunk, panic), and a hidden metal blade that slides out for emergencies. Push-button start with keyless entry. Spare key only, all-keys-lost requires the dealer.

Key Fob Battery Drain
