2018 Porsche Macan Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
She called me from the parking lot of a country club off Royal Avenue in Simi Valley, somewhere in the Royal/Kadota area. Charity gala, three hours out, trunk loaded with auction items, and she could not get her 2018 Porsche Macan unlocked.
Her key had snapped. Not lost, just snapped clean at the shoulder, probably from being forced at an angle one too many times. The bow of the key was sitting in her hand and the blade tip was still in the door lock.
That second part was the slower piece. Getting a broken tip out of a Porsche lock cylinder without damaging the tumblers takes patience. I worked it out with a broken key extractor, checked the cylinder for damage, and once it was clear I decoded what I could from the original bow to verify the cut.
Cut the new blade on site, tested it in the door, tested it in the ignition. Smooth both ways.
She had time to change before the guests arrived. The dealer would have been a flatbed tow and a wait until they could source the blade. She didn't need any of that.
