Then the part that actually matters: testing every button at the car. Lock, unlock, trunk, panic, all five. Walk-up proximity detection on both front handles. Push-button start with the new fob, then again with the original, confirming both registered clean.
Twenty-four minutes from parking to handing her two working smart keys.
She mentioned the dealer in Riverside had quoted her a wait of over a week, plus the drive out and back, plus a number that made her boss say no on the spot. I was the second call. Whole thing handled on site in her parking lot for a fraction of what they wanted.
