My Pacifica key fob won't unlock doors but starts the car-what's wrong? ▼

Start with the battery. Nine times out of ten, this is a dead CR2032 in your remote head key. Your door cylinders need the radio signal from the remote buttons, which runs on battery power. But the transponder chip that starts the car is passive; it does not need a battery at all. Pop the back of the key open, swap in a fresh CR2032, and your buttons should come back to life. If a new battery does not fix it, the remote circuit may need reprogramming, which runs $50 to $100.

Does the 2007 Pacifica have push-button start? ▼

No. Every 2004 through 2008 Pacifica uses a traditional keyed ignition with a remote head key. There is no smart key or push-button start on these models. Most people do not know this: the 2004-2008 Pacifica was Chrysler's first attempt at a crossover minivan. They took the CS platform shared with the Town and Country, gave it SUV styling and a more upscale interior, and tried to split the difference between family hauler and luxury crossover.
