Out in Centennial Plaza in Oxnard, a woman had just landed after a cross-country flight. Her husband left their 2005 Chrysler Pacifica in the airport cell phone lot. She walked up, hit the button on her remote head key, and nothing happened. No chirp, no locks, nothing.

The whole problem was a dead coin cell killing the remote and the ignition module not seeing the transponder at that distance.
Fresh CR2032, reseated the key in the ignition, and the SKTD handshake cleared on the first crank. I cycled the lock, unlock, hatch, and panic buttons from 20 feet out. All four responded clean.
She drove home that same morning. The dealer would have meant two more days plus a tow. She paid a fraction of what that route would have cost.
