1st Gen (1st Facelift)
Old-school turn-key ignition, but a transponder chip lives in the head that talks to your Baja immobilizer every start. No chip, no spark, even if the cut is perfect. The 2003-2005 Baja runs a standard blade transponder key with a 2-button remote (lock/unlock), FCC ID A269ZUA111, CR2032 battery. The remote programs on-board via ignition cycling. We bring the diagnostic tools for the transponder portion.
1st Gen (2nd Facelift)
Still a standard blade transponder key with the CR2032 and the same Subaru immobilizer. The 2006 model year refreshed several part numbers, notably transmitters 88036FE040 and 88036SA000, so verifying the fob configuration before cutting matters. Remote programming stays on-board. Transponder programming happens on-site with our diagnostic gear.
