TrailBlazer Keys Through the Years
First Generation (GMT360)
Early TrailBlazer uses a 3-button remote head key with a standard GM blade and CR2032 battery. Immobilizer is GM's Passlock system, which means the lock cylinder has to send a coded signal to the vehicle's BCM before the engine will crank. Programming is done on-board through the OBD-II port, so we handle it right at your location.
Mid-Cycle Refresh (GMT360)
Your 2005 through 2007 TrailBlazer carries the same 3-button remote head key and standard blade as the earlier models. GM kept the Passlock system consistent across these years, so the programming procedure stays the same. FCC ID is still MYT3X6898B, and the battery is still a CR2032.
EXT and SS Models (GMT360)
Your TrailBlazer EXT or SS uses the same remote head key as the standard model. Same 3 buttons, same standard blade, same CR2032 battery. The SS with its V8 has a slightly tighter immobilizer sync, but the key hardware is identical and programming is still done through the OBD-II port on-site.

TrailBlazer Problems We Fix Most
TrailBlazer PassLock Drift
Hall-effect sensor inside the GMT360 cylinder drifts under years of heat, BCM pulls fuel, security light glares. We diagnose curbside, cylinder-swap or PassLock-bypass on-site, you keep driving.
Ignition Lock Cylinder Wear
TrailBlazer cylinders past 120K miles can shed wafer pressure and refuse to turn or PassLock-fail. We replace the cylinder on-site, recode to existing keys.
Programming Failures
PassLock relearn timer interrupted by ignition key bump resets the entire 30-minute clock. We babysit the relearn properly curbside in one go.
TrailBlazer DIY Options
On-board remote programming method handles up to 4 keyless fobs via door unlock button plus ignition cycle. No dealer tools, no scan equipment, no special equipment at all.

TrailBlazer On-Board Trivia
Quiet TrailBlazer fact: in 2002 GM gave it an unusually simple on-board remote programming method. You could sync up to four keyless entry remotes with zero dealer tools, just by holding the door unlock button and cycling the ignition. While most manufacturers were locking down their systems, GM left this back door open and saved TrailBlazer owners hundreds on remote programming in their own garage.
