Push the start button like any luxury SUV; underneath sits Ford's SecuriLock PATS immobilizer with a Texas 4D (ID4D67) transponder chip. The chip has to match the vehicle computer before the engine fires. Lincoln also tucked a hidden key programming slot into the overhead console, which is one of the reasons on-site pairing is possible for us.
SYNC 4 Facelift: 2022-2023 Corsair
Lincoln rolled out SYNC 4 and Phone As A Key but left the security hardware alone. Same Texas 4D (ID4D67) chip, same SecuriLock PATS, same FCC ID. The smart key fob is functionally identical, so the programming flow is unchanged from launch.
Mid-Cycle Refresh: 2024 Corsair
The 2024 added Lincoln Premium Audio and enhanced connectivity but the key system carried over. Same Texas 4D (ID4D67) transponder, same SecuriLock PATS, same 3-button smart key. 2024 owners pay and process the same way every other Corsair owner does.

Key Fob Battery Drain
Corsair fobs die faster than owners expect, sometimes inside months of new. Intelligent Access keeps the fob in constant proximity negotiation, and the Lincoln Way app adds another draw, both chewing through CR2032s. Marco swaps at the curb in Encinitas.
PATS Immobilizer Sync Failure
Owners blame the key when this hits. Real cause is usually a voltage drop, often after a dead 12V or jump, that desyncs SecuriLock PATS from the smart key transponder. We re-pair through the OBD port and overhead console slot in about 20 minutes.
Proximity Sensor False Triggers
Intelligent Access on 2022-2024 Corsairs sometimes unlocks or starts the vehicle when the fob is nearby in your pocket, especially in a crowded La Jolla beach lot. Sensitivity issue with proximity sensors, not a key defect. We adjust signal strength.

Zero DIY route on the 2020-2021 Corsair. The SecuriLock PATS system requires professional diagnostic equipment and PIN retrieval through NASTF to register a fresh smart key.
Same answer. The 2022-2023 Corsair cannot be self-programmed. You need a licensed locksmith or dealer with Ford-compatible tools to add or replace a smart key.
2024 Corsair also requires professional programming. No generation of the Corsair supports DIY pairing.
