Pull the emergency blade out of the back of the key (small release tab on the bottom or side), use it to unlock the driver door manually, then hold the dead fob flat against the push-to-start button and press. The backup RFID coil reads the transponder chip at contact distance, so the car will recognize it even with a dead battery.
