Security got serious for GM minivans here. Your Venture uses a Megamos 13 (ID13) transponder chip embedded in the key head, paired with GM's Passlock anti-theft system in the ignition cylinder. Standard blade cut, no fancy laser cuts. On-board programming is possible with a working key.

Venture No-Start with Security Light Lit
