Mid-Generation Refresh
Jaguar refreshed the F-Pace's key system mid-generation, updating the FCC ID and fob design while maintaining backward compatibility with the same vehicle platform.
Legacy Platform
This legacy F-Pace platform used a key system that Jaguar has since discontinued. Parts are still available and we carry compatible blanks, but the programming approach is unique to this generation.
Basic Immobilizer Period
During this period, the Jaguar F-Pace used a first-generation immobilizer system. The transponder chip in the key sent a static code to the receiver ring around the ignition. On-board programming was possible with two working keys.
Current Generation
The current Jaguar F-Pace uses the latest key platform with the strongest encryption available. Programming requires up-to-date professional tools. We stay current and handle these on-site.
Which Key Does Your F-Pace Have?
Another name for a flip key — the blade swings out of the fob body like a switchblade knife. Same function as a flip key: folds for portability, flips out for the ignition.

F-Pace Key Blade Worn Down
The physical key blade on your Jaguar F-Pace key wears down over time from regular use. A worn blade may have difficulty turning in the ignition or door lock. We can cut a fresh blade from the original key code rather than copying the worn blade.
Aftermarket F-Pace Key Will Not Program
Not all aftermarket key blanks are compatible with Jaguar F-Pace vehicles. The transponder chip type must match exactly. If an online-purchased key will not program, it may have the wrong chip. We carry verified-compatible blanks.
F-Pace Vulnerable to Relay Theft
Smart key systems like those on the Jaguar F-Pace can be targeted by relay theft devices that amplify the fob's signal through walls. Store your fob in a Faraday pouch or metal container when at home to block signal amplification.
Can You Program a F-Pace Key Yourself?
Jaguar F-Pace: Professional programming only. The enhanced encryption on this generation eliminated self-programming. All key additions require a calibrated scan tool connected to OBD-II.
Jaguar F-Pace: No self-programming. Jaguar uses a proprietary encryption handshake that changes per vehicle. Even having the correct blank is not enough — the programming must go through authorized tools.
Jaguar F-Pace: Smart key proximity programming requires a scan tool. There is no manual procedure for pairing a new smart key fob to this vehicle.
