1st Generation (PL)
First-generation Neons (1995-1999) are mechanical only. No transponder, no immobilizer, no programming. Cut the blank to the right code and the car starts. Marco wraps these in under 10 minutes from any driveway.
1st Generation Late (PL)
Second-generation Neons (2000-2005) ship SKIM with the Texas Crypto 4D (4D64) transponder. Standard double-sided blade with the chip in the head, CR2032 where equipped, PIN-extracted OBD-II pairing.
2nd Generation (PL)
Mid-cycle 2003-2004 Neons added the SXT and SE trim variants but kept the same SKIM + Texas Crypto 4D (4D64) envelope. Marco's tooling runs identically across all SKIM model years.
2nd Generation Update
Final-year 2005 Neons carried the same key program through the model wrap. Production ended that year. Marco still stocks the right blanks for both pre-SKIM and SKIM Neons.

Remote Head Cracks at the Ring
SKIM-era Neon remote heads (2000-2005) crack at the keyring point after a few years on a heavy chain. The chip is fine, the blade is fine, the housing falls apart. Marco swaps the shell and re-uses the original transponder chip, no full reprogramming needed.

Two working keys in hand on a 2000-2005 SKIM Neon? Ignition cycling can add a third. First key ON for 3 seconds, OFF. Within 15 seconds, second key ON, wait for the chime. Third key within 50 seconds.
Holding one working remote on a higher-trim SKIM Neon? Re-pair just the remote-side buttons via a LOCK / UNLOCK / PANIC sequence with the key in RUN. Covers lock, unlock, panic only.
