First Generation (JA Platform)
First-generation Stratus (1995-2000) is mechanical only. No transponder, no immobilizer, no programming. Cut the blank to the right code, the car starts. Marco wraps these in under 10 minutes from any driveway.
First Generation Late (JA Platform)
Second-generation Stratus (2001-2006) ships SKIM with the Texas Crypto 4D (4D64) transponder. Standard double-sided blade, 3-button remote head where equipped, CR2032 cell, PIN-extracted OBD-II pairing.
Second Generation Sedan (JR/LR Platform)
Mid-cycle Stratuses kept the same SKIM + 4D64 envelope. Marco's tooling runs identically across the SKIM years, one playbook for the whole run.
Second Generation Coupe
Final-year Stratuses (2006) carried the same key program through the model wrap. Production ended that year. Marco still stocks the right blanks for both pre-SKIM and SKIM Stratuses.
Identify Your Stratus Key
A basic metal key with no chip and no remote. We cut it to your car's code and you are good to go.
Looks like a regular key but has an ID46 chip hidden inside the plastic head. It has to be programmed to your car's SKIM system before it will start the engine.
Higher-trim Stratuses shipped a 3-button remote head variant with the same 4D64 chip. Adds lock, unlock, panic to the remote functions.
Coupe-body Stratuses shared the same 4D64 chip and SKIM pairing as the sedan trims. Same blanks, same OBD-II session.

On a 2001+ Stratus that cranks but will not catch, the SKIM is the culprit, not the fuel pump or starter. The module verifies Texas Crypto 4D (4D64) chip on every ignition event, and sync loss kills the run. Marco re-pairs from any San Diego driveway.
Door Lock Worn Ignition Cylinder
Stratus door lock cylinders wear past readable over the years, especially on coastal cars from Coronado, Oceanside, or Imperial Beach where salt air accelerates failure. Marco re-pins or replaces door cylinders on-site and rekeys to match the ignition.
Worn Ignition Cylinder
Stratus ignition cylinders eventually wear past the point where even a fresh-cut blade reads reliably. Hard turn or fires only after wiggling. Marco re-keys or swaps the cylinder on-site, parked next to the car.
Remote Head Cracks at the Ring
SKIM-era Stratus remote heads crack at the keyring point after a few years on a heavy chain. The chip is fine, the blade is fine, the housing falls apart. Marco swaps the shell and re-uses the original transponder chip, no full reprogramming needed.
