He made it to his next building on time. Total was $98. The dealer would have been $208 the next day plus a tow. The problem wasn't the fob at all. It was a dying battery that caused the WIN module to lose its key registration. That kind of diagnosis is exactly why I carry multiple tools. The first assumption isn't always the right one.
