Trunk Lockout

Keys are in the trunk, the fob trunk button is dead, and the manual release isn't cooperating? We get in through the cabin first, then reach the trunk from the inside.

Trunk lockouts usually mean the keys slid into the trunk while loading or unloading, or the trunk release fob button and manual cylinder both failed. We open the cabin door first using our standard lockout tools, then reach the trunk through the interior release lever.

Electronic Lock Malfunction

Will opening my car door cause any damage?

No. We use Lishi picks and long-reach tools specifically designed for automotive locks. They work through the door jamb without scratching paint, bending metal, or setting off airbags. We never use slim jims, coat hangers, or flat-blade pry tools. The goal is an entry that leaves no trace.

How quickly can you get to me?

Average arrival time is under 25 minutes across San Diego County. Lockouts are priority dispatches, so we route them ahead of scheduled appointments. When you call, we give you a specific ETA based on where we are and where you are before we start driving.

Can you open any make and model?

We carry lockout tools for virtually every vehicle on the road, from early 1990s domestics through current-year imports. High-security European vehicles require model-specific Lishi picks, which we stock for BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Land Rover, Porsche, and others. If your vehicle is an unusual case, we'll tell you on the phone.

Do I have to prove the car is mine?

Yes. We require a valid photo ID matching the vehicle registration. If the car is registered to someone else, we need written authorization or a phone call from the registered owner. This is a legal requirement for licensed locksmiths, and it's there to protect vehicle owners from unauthorized entry. Takes about two minutes.

What should I do if a child or pet is locked inside?

Call 911 immediately. Then call us. We dispatch child and pet lockouts as life-safety emergencies with the fastest response and entry method available. There is no price negotiation, no paperwork, and no delay of any kind until everyone is safe. If first responders break the window before we arrive, that is the correct decision. Safety overrides everything.

Can you make me a new key while you're there?

Yes. If you need a key cut and programmed after the lockout, we handle both in the same visit. The lockout opens the door. Key replacement is a separate service with its own pricing, but combining them into one appointment saves you a second trip and a second dispatch.

Is there a surcharge for calling at night or on a weekend?

No. We quote a flat rate on the phone and that number doesn't change based on time of day, day of the week, or holidays. No emergency fees, no after-hours upcharges, no mileage charges. What we quote is what you pay.

Why shouldn't I just call a tow truck or roadside assistance for a lockout?

You can, and many people do. Roadside assistance programs typically cover basic lockouts, but response times can run 45 minutes to over an hour depending on demand. Some send a tow truck driver with a slim jim, which risks frame and paint damage on modern vehicles. We're locksmith specialists with automotive-specific tools, faster average response, and zero risk of vehicle damage. If time or vehicle condition matters to you, calling us directly is the better move.
