The 2007-2010 first-gen Edge ran PATS II with the Texas 4D63 chip and a 3-button remote head key. Standard cut blade, CR2032 inside the head, on-board pairing available with two working keys.
2nd Gen (CD4): Flip Key
The 2011-2014 refresh moved to PATS III with the 80-bit Texas 4D63. Same remote head key form factor, harder cryptography under the head. Intelligent Access available as an upgrade.
2nd Gen Facelift (CD4): Smart Key
The 2015-2024 second-gen Edge ran flip keys and smart fobs across trims. PATS IV, ID47 HITAG Pro, push-button start standard on most variants. Ford server authentication mandatory.
