2009 Ford Edge
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2009 Ford Edge Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

There is a daycare off the main stretch in Lakeside Proper, and I got a call from a dad in the parking lot on a Monday afternoon. He had already called the dealer that morning.

They told him Thursday at the earliest, possibly longer if the key blank was not in stock. He had a toddler, one vehicle, and a work schedule that was not going to survive three days of logistics.

He had lost his only key. No spare, no way to drive the car out of the lot.

I pulled up about forty minutes later. The car was sitting right there in the parking lot, toddler in his arms, dad looking at his watch. I decoded the lock and cut a replacement key blade to the vehicle, then ran the all-keys-lost programming sequence through the OBD port to register the new fob to the immobilizer. Tested every button. Engine started, locks cycled, the whole thing.

He was strapped into his car seat before I was packed up. Dad looked at me like I had done something complicated. I hadn't. I just showed up the same day.

The dealer quote was sitting in his call history. His total with me was a fraction of that, and he never had to tow the car anywhere.
