Bay Park Car Keys

Bay Park is on my regular route. Morena Boulevard and Clairemont Drive are my two entry points, and from central San Diego I'm at your curb within 15 minutes. Hillside streets, dead-end cul-de-sacs near Tecolote Canyon, restaurant parking along Morena, doesn't matter. I come to the vehicle. When both fobs die at once, the fobs usually aren't the problem. Last month a Chevy Silverado owner off Clairemont Drive called because neither fob would unlock or start the truck. Both fob batteries were fresh. I checked the truck's 12-volt battery, reading 10.1 volts, well below what the body control module needs to receive a signal. Jumped it, both fobs worked instantly. That's always the first thing I test. If the vehicle battery checks fine (and every component I touch is covered under my Hiscox commercial insurance from the moment I connect a tool), I move to the BCM and receiver module for deeper diagnosis.

That blinking key or padlock icon means the immobilizer doesn't recognize the transponder signal from your key or fob. On Ford trucks running PATS, the light blinks rapidly when the system rejects the key outright. Could be a dead transponder chip, a hardware-store copy without the right chip programmed in, or a fob battery too weak to transmit. I read the immobilizer data with the IM508 to pinpoint the cause (and I'm licensed through California BSIS as LCO 6792, which you can verify before I touch anything). Not every blinking light means a big bill. Sometimes it's a $4 battery swap.

A Ford dealer in San Diego charges above $200 an hour in shop labor, and most of that covers the building, the service writers, and the parts-counter markup.
