Do you need to tow your 2012 Fiat 500 to the dealer? Probably not. For most Fiat 500 and 500L models with supported Delphi or Marelli body control modules, I handle all-keys-lost right at the car.
A night shift CNA in Goleta had her only flip key die at home late at night. Her 500 was sitting in the fourplex carport with no key that the ignition would accept. She assumed a tow was inevitable and had already started looking up tow costs. I told her to stay home and that I'd come to her.
I connected my Smart Pro to the OBD port and ran the Fiat all-keys-lost procedure. Her remote head key, FCC ID LTQF12AM433, was a 3-button flip key that I cut and programmed in her carport at 11pm. She seemed pretty surprised it could all be done right there.
Her total was about 185. The dealer would have been 395 plus the tow. Honest disclosure: a small number of newer Fiat models with AES smart keys or locked body control modules are harder to do in the field for AKL and may need bench work or a dealer. But for the standard flip-key Fiats, I do this regularly. If your model is one of the exceptions, I'll tell you straight up instead of wasting your time.
