Out near Wheeler Hot Springs in Ojai, a fleet maintenance worker at a tire warehouse lot called me early one morning. His company 2018 Fiat 500's key blade had snapped clean off in the driver door lock. Half the SIP22 blade was jammed inside the cylinder, the other half was sitting in his palm. I got there and started on the extraction while the Tango programmer pulled BCM data to pre-code a fresh PCF7941 transponder. The Delphi BCM on these is cooperative when you have a working approach, so the chip side was ready before I even had the broken fragment out of the cylinder.
Once the blade piece was free, I decoded the wafers in the lock and cut a new SIP22 key on the Condor. Registered the new transponder through the OBD port. One cycle, accepted first try.
The part nobody thinks about: I tested every one of the four buttons on the M3N-40821302 flip remote, then ran the lock, unlock, trunk, and panic from increasing distances. All clean.
He was back pulling vehicles around the lot within the hour. A snapped key feels like the whole morning is gone. On a standard Fiat ID46 system, it is honestly one of the faster jobs in my van.
