There's also a transponder chip in the fob that communicates with the car's body control module every time you try to start it.
I met her at her driveway with replacement shells and my HU100 Lishi. I decoded her lock for an exact blade match, then swapped the electronics from her cracked shell into a fresh one. Her key's FCC ID was YG0G21TB2. I verified every button and the range, then cut a new blade from the decode. The aftermarket shells I use are the same material, same button layout, same snap-together fit as factory. The circuit board and chip are what actually matter, and those transferred right over.
She paid about 83 for the full job. The dealer was going to charge 181 to replace parts that weren't even broken.
