2016 Audi Q3 Remote flip key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A flight attendant on a layover at the brunch cafe in Simi Valley, close to Corriganville Park on a Sunday told me she had already been burned. Another locksmith charged her full price for a 2016 Audi Q3 key that never programmed correctly. The car would crank but the immobilizer cut fuel after two seconds. Classic failed IMMO learn. The other tech said the car had a module problem and walked away.
The car did not have a module problem. The locksmith had not completed the full immobilizer registration. Audi's system requires a specific PIN-based security handshake with timed steps. If you rush it, skip a step, or use the wrong procedure for the IMMO generation, the car accepts the key data temporarily but does not write it to permanent memory.
I connected through OBD with my IM608. The IM608 cleared the failed key data from the previous attempt, read a fresh PIN from the immobilizer, ran a clean registration with the correct security timer, and confirmed the key was permanently written. Her fob, FCC ID NBGFS12A71, had all 4 buttons working plus a clean start with no two-second fuel cutoff.
She paid me 257. The dealer charges 482. She had already paid the first locksmith too. What I could do was make sure the job was actually done right this time.
