2019 Audi Q3
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

Q: How fast can you get to my location in Simi Valley?

For calls in Simi Valley and the Madera area specifically, I'm usually there within 30 minutes depending on where you are and what traffic looks like when you call. When you reach out, I confirm the vehicle details for your 2019 Q3, make sure I have the right blank loaded, and head straight to you. No appointment needed.

Q: Can I get a key made today?

Yes. I carry key blanks and cutting equipment on every call. For the 2019 Q3 with a mechanical key, there is nothing to order or ship. You call, I come to you in Simi Valley, I cut the key on site. Same day, every time.

Q: I have no key at all and I'm not sure what cut my Q3 uses. Can you still make one?

Yes, and this comes up more than you'd think. When there's no existing key to copy, I work directly from the lock. The door lock cylinder or the ignition cylinder holds the cut information in the wafer positions, and I can decode that on site without pulling anything apart. From the decode I cut a replacement key to match. You don't need to know the key code, have paperwork, or track down anything from the dealer.

Q: My key is worn down and sometimes doesn't turn smoothly. Do I need a new lock or just a new key?

Usually just a new key. A worn blade reads as sloppy in the cylinder because the peaks and valleys have rounded off over time. Cut a fresh key to the correct depth specifications and most of the time the cylinder turns cleanly again. If the cylinder itself is worn out, that's a separate conversation, but the right first move is always a properly cut replacement key before assuming the lock is bad.

2019 Audi Q3 Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call from a woman in the Madera neighborhood of Simi Valley on a Tuesday morning. She had a 2019 Audi Q3 and had broken her only key off in the door lock. Not in the ignition, the door. The metal blade snapped clean, and the broken piece was still sitting in the cylinder.

She had already called the dealer. They wanted her to tow the car in, which meant a tow bill on top of whatever they were going to charge to sort it out and cut a new key. Timeline was vague.

I drove out to her place, extracted the broken blade from the cylinder without pulling the lock apart, and decoded the cut directly off the lock. Cut her a new replacement key on site. The whole thing took under an hour from the time I parked.

She had been ready to arrange a tow and block out her whole day. It ended up being a Tuesday morning thing she barely had to think about.

How long does a 2019 Audi Q3 key replacement take?▼

For this vehicle and key type, the job is cutting a metal key to fit the car. If you have a working key, I can decode it and cut a copy on site in minutes. If you have no key at all, I decode the cut from the door lock or ignition cylinder and cut from there. Either way, the full visit from arrival to handing you a working key is typically well under an hour.
