A flight attendant on a Sunday layover near Corriganville Park in Simi Valley called me about her 2016 Audi Q3. She had already been burned. Another locksmith charged her for a new key that never actually took. The car would crank, run for about two seconds, then the immobilizer killed the fuel. Classic incomplete IMMO learn. I connected through OBD with my IM608, cleared the botched key data from the first attempt, pulled a fresh security PIN from the immobilizer module, and ran a clean registration with the correct timed sequence. Key wrote permanently. Her fob, the NBGFS12A71 with shell part number 8V0837220A, had all four buttons responding plus a clean start. No two-second cutoff.
She had already paid one locksmith who walked away from the job. What I could do was make sure this time it was actually done right, on site, for a fraction of what the dealer would have quoted on top of everything she had already spent.
