In College Park, Oxnard, a CL owner waved me over from a car wash bay and held up her only key like it was a fragile tool. It would slide in, but the ignition would hang up right before it would turn.
Before I tear into wafers, I always rule out the intermittent no start side too. There are plenty of CL complaints tied to the ignition switch causing a no start, and I do not want to mask an electrical problem with a fresh cut key.

She watched every wafer come out and line back up. When it turned smooth again, she started and shut it off twice, slow, like she was waiting for it to fight back. Then she finally exhaled and asked me to bag the old wafers so she could show someone what worn out looks like. She was braced for the dealer route, but this was a fraction of that hassle.
