When a 2013 Audi A7 key is done wrong, it does not just partially work. It fails. The engine might crank but the immobilizer kills fuel injection after two seconds. I used my VVDI2 to read the chip in her bad key, confirmed the data was wrong, and programmed a new key with the correct Megamos generation matched to her FCC ID IYZFBSB802. Her fob also had a low CR2032 battery making the intermittent detection worse.
The replacement has been working since. Her cost was 95. The dealer would have charged 200. The difference between a key that works and one that works for a week is chip accuracy.
