I used my ACDP to pull the immobilizer data as a safety backup, then ran the AKL sequence through OBD with my IM608. His smart fob, FCC ID KOBUT1BT, was a 4-button proximity key. The BCM accepted the new fob after the timed security countdown completed.
His car started at a hotel lot 100 miles from home. Total was around 95. Buick smart key AKL follows the same GM procedure I do on Chevy, GMC, and Cadillac every week.
