I extracted the blade fragment, decoded the lock, and cut two fresh keys. Her fob, FCC ID KOBUT1BT, was a 4-button smart key rebuilt into a new shell with the salvaged electronics. I showed her the chip from the cracked key so she could see it was still good.
She went from zero keys to two in about 45 minutes. Total was around 133. A full AKL without the broken pieces would cost more, and the dealer wanted 267 either way. If you still have the broken fob, bring it. The chip inside a cracked Cadillac smart key is usually salvageable.
