The mechanical ignition on G35, G37, and FX-era vehicles uses the same Nissan-family lock cylinder that wears down over time, especially with heavy keychains. The wafers loosen, the key catches on the turn, and the owner assumes the ignition is dead. The dealer will gladly sell a full replacement.
