A retired judge with a recent hip replacement at the physical therapy office near Soule Park Golf Course called about his 2017 Jaguar XF. Getting to a Jaguar dealer across town wasn't just an inconvenience, it was a real logistical problem. I used my HU92 Lishi to decode the lock and verify the blade, then connected through OBD to diagnose the fob fault. His fob, FCC ID KOBJTF10A, had a corroded CR2032 battery that had leaked onto the PCB. I cleaned the board, replaced the battery, and re-registered the fob to the KVM. I showed him how to check the battery compartment so he'd spot corrosion early next time.
He didn't have to leave the building. Total was 415. Dealer quoted 732 plus the problem of getting there with a walker.
