Got a call from a guy near the Santa Paula Art Museum who was locked into the dealer mindset on his 2009 Jaguar XF. His only smart key had stopped working mid-errand. Dashboard showed "SMART KEY NOT DETECTED" and the passive entry on both front doors went dead. I set up my Smart Pro on the OBD port and ran the security module registration for a new KR55WK49244 fob. Cut the emergency blade to match his door lock, then tested everything: passive unlock on driver and passenger handles, push-to-start, all five buttons, and the trunk release from standing distance.
The whole job took about 35 minutes. He had been quoted over a week of wait time by the dealer in Oxnard because they said the fob had to be ordered through Jaguar parts. He kept his old fob too, with a fresh battery, so now he has a proper backup.
