When a 2011 Kia Soul key is done wrong, it doesn't "kind of work." It fails. The remote might lock and unlock perfectly while the dash still says "key not detected" and refuses to start. Or push-to-start works for a few days then randomly stops detecting the fob after deeper security verification kicks in.
