La Conchita is a small stretch of community right up against the PCH, hemmed in between the water and the bluff. Not a lot of places to wait, and not a lot of cell signal depending on where you're standing. A 2023 Soul owner there had zero keys. The module needs to be accessed through the diagnostic port, the existing key memory cleared, and new fobs enrolled in sequence. I backed up the immobilizer data before touching anything, which takes an extra few minutes but means there's a recovery path if something interrupts the process.
Once the clear ran, I held each fob near the start button through the enrollment countdown. The dash confirmed each one. Then the full test: proximity detection walking up to the car, touch unlock on the door handles, start button, every fob button.
He didn't need a tow. He didn't need to take a day off to sit at a dealership. Done on site in La Conchita, for a fraction of what the dealer route would have cost him even before the tow bill.
