On Lincoln, the immobilizer logic lives in the BCM on push-to-start models and the PCM on older PATS models. His smart key, FCC ID M3N-A2C940780, was a 5-button Intelligent Access fob. The fault cleared and the new fob learned on the first attempt after stabilization.
Total was about an hour and forty minutes. His bill was 317. The alternative was a flatbed to the dealer, a multi-day wait, and 581 or more.
