Hillsides Car Keys

You call, I pick up, no call center and no dispatcher. I confirm your location in the Hillsides switchbacks, give you a real ETA of 15-20 minutes, and text when I am close. Then I verify ownership with your ID and registration and get to work. Last month a woman near Arroyo Verde Park could not find her Accord key, and eighteen minutes later the door was open with a Lishi.

Dying battery, almost every time. The signal cannot reach the antenna from your pocket, but pressing the fob against the column puts it close enough to the backup reader coil. I carry replacement batteries for every fob type. If a fresh battery does not fix it, the problem is usually a cracked solder joint on the circuit board. I test the board and tell you whether a new fob is needed before any charges hit.

Yes, and Hillsides late in the evening is dark, quiet, and a long way from anything open. NASTF certification means I carry credentials that prove who I am on arrival, which matters at 11 PM when a stranger shows up with tools. I know which streets are too narrow for my van, where the grades need wheel chocks, and which cul-de-sacs have turnaround room.

I do not need the title, just your driver's license and vehicle registration, usually in the glovebox or an insurance app. If the registration is locked in the car and your phone is dead, I pull the VIN from the windshield and cross-reference ownership through manufacturer databases. I will not cut a key for someone who cannot prove the car is theirs, but a document sitting at home does not strand a verified owner.

I pull up, set work lights if it is dark, and confirm ownership. Then I select the Lishi pick for your keyway: a Honda Civic gets the HU66, a Toyota Camry gets the TOY43. The pick slides into the door cylinder and I manipulate each wafer until it turns, reading cut depths as I go, so you can have your key code for a duplicate later. Door opens, alarm check, done, two to five minutes.

There is not one. Dealers charge $250-$400 for a transponder key and $450-$600 for a proximity fob, plus the tow because your car does not run without a key. I program the key in your Hillsides driveway: transponder $145-$185, smart key $245-$325, no tow, no rental. At 1 AM the dealer is closed, and a weekend means no answer until Monday.
