Push-to-start all-keys-lost on a newer Jaguar is the job that worries owners the most. No key slot, no way to physically turn anything. The car needs to wirelessly detect a smart fob registered to its KVM before it will start. If that fob is gone, the car feels dead, but it isn't.
A corporate attorney from out of state at the spa resort valet in Port Hueneme on a Saturday night had a 2001 Jaguar S-Type with Keyless-Go and zero keys. He was in town for a partner retreat and his only smart fob vanished somewhere between the spa and the parking lot. The valet told him Jaguar smart keys were dealer-only. The dealer was closed until Monday.
I drove to the resort. AKL on newer Jaguar push-to-start cars requires reading the KVM module to extract the security data. I used my ACDP to clip directly to the KVM board, read the EEPROM and D-Flash without soldering, computed the key data, and wrote it to a new smart fob. His fob, FCC ID NHVWB1U241, was a 4-button proximity key.
His car started in the resort valet lane on a Saturday night. Total was around 269. Dealer would have been 503 plus a multi-day wait stranding him out of state. He told me he'd been dreading having to extend his hotel booking for the whole week.
