2000 Jaguar S-Type Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A night-shift pharmacist in Port Hueneme, over in Hueneme Center, called me around 11:20 at night. Her only key for a 2000 S-Type had snapped at the bow, right where the plastic meets the blade. The transponder chip was still in the broken head, but the blade was jammed in the ignition barrel with no way to turn it.
She had already looked up the dealer route. Tow it to the nearest Jaguar service center, wait for a weekday appointment, pay for a new key and programming labor. She was looking at days without her car.
I pulled the broken blade stub out of the ignition cylinder with an extractor. Then I cut a new key blade by code using the side milling specs for the Jaguar tibbe-style 6-cut pattern on a Condor XC-Mini Plus. The original key used a TBE1 keyway. Once the blade was right, I seated a new ID4C glass transponder chip in the key head and cloned it from the broken original using my Smart Pro.
One turn and the S-Type fired right up. No diagnostic port programming needed on this one because the clone matched the existing immobilizer data exactly.
She stood in her garage doorway watching the whole thing, still in scrubs. When the engine caught, she just nodded slowly, like she was checking off a mental list. That was it. Back in business before midnight, no tow, no dealer wait.
