Older Audi flip keys with the HU66 blade and Megamos 48 chip are some of the fastest key jobs I do. The lock is clean to decode, the key blank is common, and the transponder programming on these IMMO3 cars is the quickest Audi generation. I got there and used my VVDI2 to read the immobilizer PIN from the ECU through OBD, then generated a fresh Megamos 48 chip and programmed it as a replacement key. The VVDI2 is the most stable tool I have for VAG immobilizer PIN reads and key generation on these older platforms. His customer's flip key, FCC ID MYT8Z0837231, was a 4-button unit. The new key was cut, chipped, and starting the engine within 30 minutes.
The shop put the wheels back on and the customer picked up the car on time. Total was $251. The dealer would have charged $473 and taken days.
