2022 Chrysler Voyager Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was parked near the trailhead lots off Torrey Pines Road on a Tuesday afternoon when the call came in. A mom had her 2022 Voyager sitting in a Del Mar gymnastics studio parking lot and the fob had gone dark.
No lock, no unlock, nothing. The sliding door buttons were dead. She had three kids rotating between the gym floor and the snack bar and maybe 90 minutes before she needed to be somewhere else. The dealer had already told her Friday was the earliest opening. It was Tuesday.
I asked her one question before I drove over: had she tried a fresh CR2032. She had not. I told her to pick one up at the pharmacy two blocks away while I headed her direction, just to rule it out. New battery, same result. Fob completely unresponsive.
When I got there, the kids were doing what kids do, orbiting the van and asking questions. I connected my programmer to the OBD port, ran the identification sequence, and pulled the security PIN the Voyager needed for the registration process. Her existing fob paired up clean inside of 20 minutes. The issue turned out to be that the fob had dropped out of the vehicle's memory, which happens more often than people expect when a battery fully drains and sits dead for a while before anyone notices.
She had a working fob before the next activity started. I mentioned the dealer's Friday timeline as I was packing up, mostly because she brought it up. She just laughed and started loading the kids.
