2015 Fiat 500
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2015 Fiat 500 Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A first-time car buyer near the Spring Valley border in Lemon Grove picked up a used 2015 Fiat 500 off Facebook Marketplace. Decent little car, fair price, one catch: it came with a single key. The seller told him to grab a copy at the hardware store. That advice would have cost him a wasted trip and a key that does nothing useful.

He called the Fiat dealer first. The number they quoted him for a spare remote head key nearly made him reconsider the whole idea. The car had been a reasonable buy, and the dealer wanted a significant slice of that just for a backup. He found EZ Car Keyz and called to ask whether the dealer price was real. I told him it was real, and that I do the same job for a fraction of that.

I met him at his place off the Spring Valley border. The factory fob gave me what I needed to confirm the key specs. I decoded the lock cylinder, cut a replacement blade on my machine, and used my programmer to enroll the new key's transponder chip alongside the original. The immobilizer accepted both. No tow, no appointment, no waiting two days for parts to arrive.

He left with two fully working keys. Lock, unlock, trunk release, starts the car. The reason I push for a spare on these is simple: if he ever loses that original key now, it's an add-a-key job. If he'd lost it before today, it would have been an all-keys-lost procedure, which takes longer and costs more. Having two keys is just cheap insurance.
