2019 Fiat 500 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out near the Lake Poway Area, I got a call from a woman who trains horses at one of the equestrian properties just outside town. She'd found me on YouTube before she ever needed a locksmith.
Watched a Fiat 500 key replacement video, saw the process start to finish, and saved my number. When her 2019 Fiat 500 started giving her trouble with the flip fob, she already knew what the job looked like.
She described it as intermittent at first. Sometimes the car saw the key, sometimes it threw a warning on the dash. By the time she called me, it had stopped being intermittent. The car just wasn't recognizing the fob at all.
I met her at the property. First thing I did was check the CR2032, because a dead or low cell in these fobs can mimic a full communication failure. Battery was fine. The flip blade hinge had some play in it, which can affect how the housing seats and whether the internal contacts stay solid, but that wasn't the core issue either. The fob itself had failed.
Pulled out the diagnostic equipment, connected at the OBD port, cleared the old key data, and registered the new fob on site. Tested every button, ran three clean starts, and checked the range from across the stable yard.
She mentioned the dealer had quoted her a number that made her hesitate, which is part of why she'd gone looking on YouTube in the first place. Coming to her saved the tow, the wait, and a good chunk of what the dealer wanted.
