A customer at the mosque lot in Chula Vista told me he'd already been burned. Another locksmith charged him full price for a 2017 Kia Niro key that never programmed correctly. The car would crank but the immobilizer killed fuel after two seconds. Classic failed IMMO learn. The other locksmith said the module was bad and left.

I used my HY22 Lishi to verify the blade cut, then connected through OBD with my IM608. I cleared the failed key data, ran a clean IMMO learn with the proper PIN and security sequence, and confirmed the new key was permanently written. His fob, FCC ID TQ8-FOB-4F08, had all 4 buttons working plus a clean start. I showed him the confirmation screen.
He paid me $274. Dealer charges $478. He'd already paid the first locksmith too. But I could make sure it was done right this time.
