2017 Porsche Panamera Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Do you need to tow your 2017 Porsche Panamera to the dealer? Probably not. For most Porsche models from the mid-2000s through the mid-2010s, I handle all-keys-lost right at the car. Some newer models require pulling the KESSY module for a bench read, which adds time, but I do it on-site with portable equipment.
A night shift radiologist at his townhouse garage in Oceanside had his only key die at home around 11:45pm. His Panamera was in the garage with no fob the car would recognize. He assumed a tow to the Porsche dealer was the only option. I told him to stay put and that I'd come to him.
His car used the older flip key system. I used my Smart Pro to read the immobilizer PIN through OBD and programmed a replacement key directly without any bench work. His Smart Key, FCC ID KR55WK50138, was a 5-button flip key. I cut, programmed, and had the engine starting in his garage before midnight. He seemed pretty surprised it could all happen that fast.
His total was about $434. Dealer would have been $778 plus the tow. There are some very new Porsche platforms where AKL requires dealer-level online coding that my tools don't support yet. But for the majority of Porsches on the road today, I do all-keys-lost on-site. If yours is an exception, I'll tell you straight up.
