A woman in Downtown IB called me on a Tuesday morning, standing in a parking lot off Seacoast Drive. Her 2008 C30 wouldn't start. The key was going in, turning, and nothing was catching. No crank. The dash was throwing a key-not-detected warning and she had already tried the spare, which gave her the same result.
