A woman in Downtown IB called me on a Tuesday morning, standing in a parking lot off Seacoast Drive. Her 2008 C30 wouldn't start. The key was going in, turning, and nothing was catching. No crank. The dash was throwing a key-not-detected warning and she had already tried the spare, which gave her the same result.

I got to her in under 30 minutes. First thing I checked was whether both keys were actually reading at all. Neither one was. Enrolled her original fob and a new replacement fob I had on the van, fresh CR2450 in both, tested every button and confirmed the engine started off each key before I packed up.
The whole thing took about 45 minutes on site. She mentioned she'd called the dealer before me and was told she'd need a tow, an appointment, and a wait of several days. She was back in the car before noon.
