In Ventura, over in Mission San Buenaventura, I met a 2019 ILX owner who had already done the classic move: new CR2032, then stress when it still acted up.
The remote would lock the doors, but the start button was hit-or-miss. Sometimes it went to ACCESSORY, sometimes nothing. They kept clicking it anyway, like the car was going to change its mind.
I ran the Acura one-push start checks in order. Lock and unlock, watch the fob LED. Doors respond. Then the backup function test: foot off the brake, push the engine start/stop button, hold the remote outside the open driver window, and when the MID prompts you, touch the start/stop button with the remote. When I split the remote case, the water detection sticker on the inside panel was solid red. That’s a done fob.
