The BCM accepted the new registration on the first attempt after the repair. I showed the garage team what had gone wrong so they'd recognize it next time.
Total job time was about two hours. His bill was 185. The alternative was over $1,200 for a full module replacement that wasn't necessary. The BCM wasn't broken. The data inside was corrupted, and corrupted data can be fixed.
